How ZipTier Pricing Works

ZipTier uses a simple, usage-based pricing model designed to give marketers full control, predictable costs, and maximum flexibility. With ZipTier, you're only charged for chat messages - no upfront fees, no recurring charges, and no commitments. There are no additional charges for storage of your marketing documents, bandwidth consumed, or the size of the messages. Simply purchase message credits as needed based on your forecast of usage. Use the credits across all of your ZipTier campaigns rather than having to fund and manage every campaign separately.


What Counts as Usage?

  • Unit of consumption: a message
  • A message represents one complete exchange between the user and the ZipTier AI Assistant. In other words, a user’s question or comment and the AI Assistant’s response together count as one message. Each exchange deducts 1 message credit from your message credit balance regardless of the length of the question or response (subject to system-defined size limits).
  • Flat rate: USD $0.22 per message (before volume discounts)
  • Message size: unit price is the same regardless of length (with a system-set size cap to ensure fair usage)

For example: If you’re running a marketing event targeting 50 people, and you estimate that each person would ask ~20 questions on average, that’s 1,000 total messages. If you are planning to have 4 such campaigns, you can purchase a 5K message pack that gives you 5,000 messages. You can also top up your credits at any point if your estimate of per person message count turns out to be lower than actual. ZipTier also sends you a warning email if your credits fall below a minimum threshold and if it appears you are about to run short on credits.


Purchasing Message Credits

Here are the steps to purchase message credits for your ZipTier account:

  • Log in to the ZipTier website with your account
  • Navigate to the ‘Pricing’ page from the header. Alternatively, you can click on your user card and click on Add credits’
  • This takes you to the ‘Add Message Credits’ page which shows the different message packs you can purchase for your account. These message packs range from 250 messages to 5,000 messages. Larger message packs have a lower unit price.
  • Select the message pack you want to purchase and click ‘Proceed to Payment’.
  • This launches the Stripe payment page. Select the currency you want to use for your payment. Fill in the credit card, address details and click ‘Pay’. You can also save your information with Stripe for faster checkout in the future.
  • Once your payment goes through, you will be taken back to ZipTier website with a success message. Your message credits will be automatically deposited into your ZipTier account upon successful payment.

Message Credits

Every ZipTier account has a message credits balance.

  • Balance gets credited with your purchase of message credits and get spent when messages are consumed.
  • Credits can be used across all campaigns.
  • Easier forecasting — a single pool is simpler than juggling multiple per-campaign balances.

This approach eliminates friction, reduces wasted spend, and makes billing simpler. Instead of topping up for every campaign, you just top up your global pool when needed.

Forecasting Credits: How many credits do I need?

To ensure that you have uninterrupted campaigns, it’s important to forecast your credit needs. Messages consumed for any single campaign will depend on two factors - the number of users and the expected engagement level. Here’s a simple formula to help you estimate your credit needs:

  • List out the campaigns planned out for the upcoming quarter (or 6 months depending on your purchase timeframe)
  • For each campaign, take your expected number of users (U) and multiply that by an estimate of average message consumption per user (M).
  • Sum the total messages needed across all campaigns to get your overall credit forecast.

Example: 3 campaigns in the upcoming purchase period

  • Campaign 1: 100 users × ~20 messages each = ~2,000 messages
  • Campaign 2: 50 users × ~20 messages each = ~1,000 messages
  • Campaign 3: 75 users × ~24 messages each = ~1,800 messages

Given the above forecast, you'd purchase at least 5,000 message credits to ensure uninterrupted campaigns. You can always top up more credits at any time, as needed based on actual usage. Since the credits are shared across campaigns and don't expire, any unused credits will get consumed in subsequent campaigns.


Volume Discounts

Message credits are available in increments, and larger bundles come with discounted unit pricing.

  • Smaller packs: pay the base ~$0.22 per message
  • Larger packs: enjoy lower per-message cost (e.g. for a 5,000 message credits pack, the per message pricing goes down 10% to $0.20 per message)

Managing Your Credits

  • You can top up credits anytime, as often as you like.
  • ZipTier automatically notifies you when your balance hits a lower balance threshold, so you'll never be caught off guard.
  • Top-ups are quick and seamless, and you can see your current balance right on the ZipTier home page.

Traditional per-campaign pricing often creates friction:
