Language Support
Language Support lets visitors chat with your AI Assistant in their own language. Visitors can ask a question in more than 40 languages and the assistant replies in the language they wrote in. The assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude, so there is nothing to turn on and nothing to translate yourself.
Chat Conversation Languages
Visitors can write in any language the assistant understands, and it replies in that language. More than 40 languages work well, including:
- Europe: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Russian, Greek
- Middle East: Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian
- South Asia: Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi
- East and Southeast Asia: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino
- Africa: Swahili
Answers are strongest in widely spoken languages. A visitor who writes in Romanized Hindi gets a reply in Romanized Hindi, and a visitor can switch language at any point in the conversation.
What Visitors See
When a visitor opens your AI Assistant, the chat interface appears in the language of their browser if it is supported, and in English otherwise. Visitors can also pick another language from the language dropdown in the chat header. The assistant then replies in the language the visitor writes in, which can be different from the interface language.
Chat interface languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Korean.
Visitors can also dictate their question with the microphone button in most languages. Korean is not available for voice input yet.
What Gets Translated
You write your campaign once, in English. ZipTier translates the text visitors see, so the interface around the conversation matches their language:
- Header title and subtitle
- Contact type names, for example “Registration” or “Logistics”
- Chat input placeholder and starter questions
- Launcher button text and teaser text
- Welcome message
- Lead capture questions and their dropdown choices, including custom questions
Email addresses, phone numbers, your company name and your campaign name are not translated.
Testing Your Translations
You do not need to do anything to translate your campaign. To see how it looks in another language, open your campaign in Preview mode, using the sandbox link, or open the production link, then pick a language from the language dropdown in the chat header. Test the welcome message, starter questions and lead capture questions in each language you care about.
Campaigns you created before Language Support launched are translated for you by ZipTier.
Transcripts and Lead Data
Chat transcripts you download from the leads table on the Dashboard, the data sent to your CRM, and Live Chat messages in Slack stay in the visitor's original text.
Knowledge Base Language
Your knowledge base is supported in English only. The documents and web pages you add should be in English. When a visitor asks in another language, the assistant finds the answer in your English content and replies in the visitor's language.
